Article of The Christmas Concert

20 Sept 2011

First of all many thanks to Jimmy Riddle for finding this article. Okay, there is an article written about Libera Concert in Manila by The Philippine Entertainment Portal. It tells that this concert held for celebration of the PHL-UK Frienship Week. It also aims to raise fund for Disadvantaged Children and the Children's Hour. So, it's like a charity event.

I post the full article here in my blog. It came from PEP website. You can also read it here. There's another post about their concert. The content is just the same, but it has larger picture. Read here. Oh yeah, I really like the picture they posted. All those boys looking soooo freaking adorable like a group of cute little angels. It must be one of the pictures from their new album. YAY! Great! Can't wait to see the entire of it. Anyway, speaking of the concert please don't forget to spread word. Okay? Looking for any details?? Click here.

Due to popular demand, Libera is coming back to Manila for a Christmas concert. The world-renowned vocal band will be performing this October at the PICC.

The world's chart-topping London boys choir will be singing songs from their new record titled The Christmas Album. Libera is set to astound Filipino audiences by singing yuletide carols like "Joy To The World," "O, Holy Night," "White Christmas," and "The First Noel." The album will be released worldwide this October.

The concert is in celebration of the PHL-UK Friendship Week and for the benefit of the British Alumni Association's (BAA) Foundation for Disadvantaged Children and the Children's Hour, in cooperation with the British Embassy Manila, British Chamber of Commerce Philippines, The British Council, EMI and PolyEast Records.

The distinct sound of Libera comes from the blending of voices of its members with some as young as seven. Their heavenly music varies from classical pieces of Beethoven, Debussy, Pachelbel, and other masters to Gregorian chants and Latin rite liturgies. Among the group's most popular renditions include "Always With You," "Far Away," "Going Home," "How Can I Keep from Singing," "Sing Forever," "Ave Maria," "Sanctus" and "Adoramus," among others.

Libera is nothing like any other boy band in the music scene today. The chart-topping London boys choir is recognized around the world and their ethereal music is praised for sounding classic and modern at the same time.

Libera went to the Philippines for the first time last October 2009 and performed sold-out concerts in Manila and Cebu.  Libera's repertoire included "Orinoco Flow" by Enya, in reference to the island of Cebu, and "Bayan Ko," the unofficial anthem of the EDSA Revolution, which got the boys a standing ovation and left audiences amazed and mystified by their divine voices.

Libera, The Christmas Concert of the Year will be staged on October 25 at the PICC Plenary Hall. Tickets are priced at P1000, P2000, P2500, P4000, P5000, and P7000.
