Tonight's concert in Guildford was one to die for. It was very special. There were FORTY-ONE boys singing. Imagine how powerful they were. Some older boys who missed the Asia tour were back, adding more power to low voice group. The funny thing is Liam who has been MIA for more than a year was also back to the stage tonight. Yay! As usual, I'm very happy to welcome the new boys in Libera. Can't wait to hear more from you, mini boys. Anyway, do you guys notice how many siblings are in Libera now? :)

There's a new addition to the set list, a song called I'm Dreaming Of Home. I thought it was a new song specially composed for Libera. But, apparently it's already exist in this world; it's a soundtrack of the film "Joyeux Noel". A beautiful song, though. I put the link below to give you the idea of how the song sounds like.

I love that the not-so-newbies started to take over the lead on some songs. I'll definitely miss the voices of Ralph, Stefan, and others. But, the newbies also offer many promising talents. Take Lucas Wood for example. I heard he did a brilliant job on his first solo and could sing really high too.

Although they brought 41 boys tonight, actually Libera didn't always sing with full choir. The ten newbies only sang on Gloria and Eternal Light in the first half, and then joined again with the rest on the last 3 songs and encore in the second half. Still, it's such a wonderful experience for fans to witness 41 Libera boys on the stage. I think every Libera fan now started to dream of having one. I hope they'll do it again some time in the future.

Overall, it seems like this concert was a huge success based on the impression that audience had: well-attended, efficient staff, very nice venue, beautiful lighting, and of course perfect performing. Woo-hoo! Happy to hear that. Also proud of the boys.

So, the Spring Tour 2013 is officially over. Thanks to Patrick, Yuki, Peer, and everyone for pictures and live news. And congratulations Libera on the successful tour. Now take a good rest, boys. See you on the next tour in Summer.

(It's nice to see EMI US is hosting a contest like this for Libera to promote them and their new compilation album. So...is this a sign or something? MAYBE there's a hope for US tour in the near future? Or...maybe not. Well, it's just pure my personal thoughts, though. Don't get high. Because I know nothing about it. You could simply ignore it. But, I keep my fingers crossed for you guys, US fans.)

St George's Concert

As expected, the programme for this concert was same as Northern Ireland's. Same songs, same soloists, same boys. But this time we got another three new boys again joining Libera. So happy to see new faces! :) The venue was well-attended. The concert went very well, ended with long standing applause. Many fans said it was even better than NI concerts. That is wonderful. Wish I could have been there. Congrats for the boys! They closed this year with a fantastic performance. Very well done. Now don't we all look forward to next year to start new season of Libera tour?

News from  tonight's concert.

1. Tom Cully was back to help out Libera again. Fans have seen him in the cathedral. His name was on the crew list as a keyboardist. Yay! Welcome back, Tom!

2. Fans who bought premium tickets were absolutely very happy because they could wait in a warm place next to cathedral so they didn't have to queue in the cold. In addition, they also seated first before the main door opened. So nice!

3. A while ago, Simon Lewis from Libera was asking Libera fans on twitter to tweet him about what we love about Libera or what made us start listening to them or what effect is has had on us. The messages would become a part of something special. So, today we finally had the answer what this special thing was. Apparently some chosen messages were featured on the Libera-information boards/banners at the waiting room. Very happy to see mine on the board. :)

It didn't surprise me that Josh was still with the group this time again, as a Libera boys AND also on his keyboard. Still, I'm glad to hear that. OMJ, he's officially the oldest Libera boy in history. EVER. Proud of you, my boy. Also happy to see Ralph and Stefan back on the list along with Oscar, Carlos, and Sammy. But no Barney again. :( Adrian and Jakob were missing too. Hope these boys will come back soon.

What surprised me the most is the new addition to the set list: Voca Me, Be Still My Soul, and Mysterium. OH MY GOD! All this time I am always dying to hear Voca Me and Mysterium live in concert. I just think those two songs must sound really amazing and fantastic to perform in an actual concert. Don't you agree? Now I really wish I was there!

Seems the low voice group were really stand out that night. Along with the little ones, they created beautiful harmonies, making some songs sound more fantastic in everyone's ears, such as Be Still My Soul, Voca Me, and others. That is what the impression I got from several statements by the attendees. Well, no wonder, with such skills from long experiences is possible for our back-row boys to make it happen.

Of course we also must congratulate our amazing soloists for amazing performances. Especially I'd like to point out Tom, Eoghan, and Matthew J who had more than one solo. Looks like they are on their golden phase now as the 'main' Libera soloists. Congrats! But after all, we must thank every single boys for their contributions to create colorful, magnificent performance and make their fans happy. I believe they are also happy as well singing on the stage for us.

Belfast Concert
Libera have had a concert at the same church back in 2009. Three years later, they came back with mostly new boys, new set list to please their fans there. Every concert-goer who went to both venues agreed that this second concert was better than the first one in Armagh. Voca Me still captured many attention since it never brought to a live performance before. Below I quote a short review by Choirfan in LDF.

Ah, once again my boys have done a great job. I think they must left some sweet, unforgettable memories for their audience in Northern Ireland. Two amazing concert down, one more London concert to go. Then, next stop is Taiwan in 2013. Are you ready?

A Libera Wedding

Here is a story about a Libera-themed wedding by a great Libera fan named Craig. It's posted on AV Forum before. Since it's really beautiful and wonderful to me, I asked him permission for posting it here as well. So..sit back, relax, and enjoy it. :)

This past Saturday (October 6) I married a wonderful woman named Amy. When I met her last summer, one thing we had in common was some common music tastes – primarily contemporary Christian music. After we dated for a while I introduced her and her two children to Libera music which they took to like glue. So it was only fitting that we would incorporate a generous portion of Libera music in our wedding. This note is to show you how we did that.

We used an autumn theme (the fall colors in the trees are beautiful this time of year where we live in Connecticut, USA) and incorporated some things personal to our style. The men and boys were dressed in dark brown tuxes with maroon ties. Amy and her daughter were in beautiful white coordinating gowns. Dominant decorating colors were maroon, white, and gold. The cake was covered in beautiful icing colored leaves. It also had a little campfire and two guitars and had a husband and wife cake topper from the "Willow Tree" collection.

Just to give you a little background on us, I am 46 years old and this is my first marriage. I have two adopted boys who are now grown. My oldest is 21 and is engaged to a woman with two young children who were the ring bearer and flower girl. This is Amy's second marriage, the first of which produced two wonderful children who are of elementary school age. The wedding party consisted of just our four children.

30 minutes prior to the wedding start we played a CD with the following songs.

Halfway through "Sailing," Amy's and my parents went up the aisle. The mothers lit their respective unity candles. Amy and her parents really enjoy sailing and have done it for many years so that is why I chose that song.

The pastor then entered and said a few opening remarks. Then came the processional.

"Eternal Light" (Peace Deluxe) started. Once the singing started I entered from a side entrance with my two boys. The next stanza of the song, Amy's two children walked up the aisle arm in arm. They were followed by the children of my older son's fiancé (aged 6 and 2). The two year old girl had a basket of fall color leaves she attempted to sprinkle on the floor. It was real cute. She did her best. Her brother helped.

After the chorus in "Eternal Light" there is a cascade of chimes (Amy refers to it as fairy dust sound) as the next verse starts ("Life is but a journey….") which was Amy's cue to enter and walk down the aisle. It timed out very nicely and had a great effect. When she reached the front beside me, the song was slowly faded out and stopped (I believe right at the song bridge).

The Pastor led us in the statements of intention ("I Do" part) and invocation. We then had two bible readings; one done by my sister (Ephesians 5: 25-33) and the other by Amy's sister (Galatians 5: 16-17, 22-23). Then the Pastor's message was given.

After that I sang and played on the guitar "Faithful Heart" (from Peace) to Amy. How did I do? Well, let's just say that I hope it never makes it on YouTube, lol! In truth, there were several who were in tears when I was done, not for the quality of the performance but for the effort to deliver the message to my beloved. Many thanks to the Furby Libera for helping me with the chords!

We then did the Ring ceremony and the exchanging of vows. It was particularly meaningful how the song "Faithful Heart" led into it, even if Josh does it way better. We then did three consecutive recorded songs.
1. Falling Season – Maeve (And The World Became Kind) – special note: this song was written by the Pastor's daughter and friend of Amy's who sings with Maeve, a popular Christian music band from Boston, Massachusetts. We were facing each other during this entire song and both of us lost our composure. It was a beautiful moment!
2. My Intentions? – Instrumental on the "The Moon Has Two Faces" soundtrack. This is only a minute long and we lit the Unity candle during it.
3. All Of My Life – Barbara Streisand (The Moon Has Two Faces). During this song we greeted our parents and kids. Lots of tears.

This was followed by the Prayer of Blessing and the Pronouncement of Husband and Wife. Once this finished, the recessional played which was Exsulate – Libera (Peace) as we walked down the aisle together as a married couple.

Thus ends an introduction to the rest of my life. I'm looking forward to it!!!

Summer Tour: Guernsey Concert

I don't know if tonight's concert got any better than what seemed to be an ideal concert of Libera the last time in Jersey or no. But, once again, it was really good. The boys were amazing.

OK, I know that I sounded like I was there. In fact I, perhaps like you right this second, was only sitting in front of my desktop, muttering why I wasn’t there, and blogging about it. Well, the later is probably just me. 

But back to the topic, I could feel it in my bone they would do just great tonight and the day after, somehow. And what I heard from the actual eyewitnesses, yes they were. My boys did it once again, like a boss. Yayy!!!! 

Nothing changed during the concert. Still the same soloist for the same programme. Everyone has done their job well.

I think this concert had the better attendance tonight. Last time I checked the ticket selling few hours before the concert, the hall was about 70% filled up with the audience. Way better than in Jersey. Thanks to some dedicated fans who made such an effort to help Libera advertising the concerts by putting up the poster on the local buses and handing out the leaflet to some tourists and also putting them at Tourism Centre in Guernsey. It surely helped a lot.

I can't say anything but really am proud of my boys for doing another magnificent job. One more to go, lads. I'm so looking forward to the last concert tomorrow (aww..how things get so fast to end!). Day 2
If you were thinking Libera wouldn’t get any better, FYI, you were wrong. Fantastic, stunning, brilliant were the words used by the audience to describe the 2nd concert in Guernsey and also the last one of the tour in the Channel Islands. I'm really glad that the boys ended their Summer Tour brilliantly. Everyone is happy.

I won't put any review of the concert because you better hear it directly all the excitement and stuff from the concert goers. Please do check some fan-sites for everything, such as Libera Passion and Libera Dreams.

Finally, someone has captured a clear shot of Moose 'the mascot' last night. It was taken by Yorkie before the concert. Wow! Moose is such a role model for the boys. You know, always be the first one ready to the concert and all the events. ;)

Today Libera's Summer Tour 2012 officially has already begun. Their annual event this year has taken place in the lovely Channel Islands. This is the very first time they hold a tour/concert in there. They chose two biggest cities of the Islands: Jersey and Guernsey for sharing their magical music. Jersey got the first chance to experience Libera today and tomorrow. Then next week is Guernsey's turn on 7 and 8 August.

Libera-spirit is on fire again. Twitter buzzing like crazy. All the updates from the concert goers started flowing on my timeline. I knew it would be a sleepless night for me tonight. Since holidays and Olympic already messed up my bed-time, it doesn't matter at all to sacrifice one night for a live report of Libera concert. Because I'm now officially a nocturnal human being, so it isn't a really big deal for me to struggle the 6 hours difference and stay awake until this hour. Although now while typing this, my eyes are so heavy, fighting to close. But, all the excitement inside me beat the sleep tonight (or this morning now!).

First of all before heading to the actual report, I want to say how LUCKY those who are attending the concert(s) on this tour. Seriously, heard Josh Madine is still in his white robe and singing in Libera, made me crazy. And now he's on the keyboard too? How crazily awesome that is! God, I'm gonna die now. Oh no, not now, I still want to see him performing one day. Anyway, remember 'Sanctus' on Japanese TV show? He was conducting and possibly playing the keyboard too. Will he be the next Robert Prizeman? Who knows! Oh..now I so want to be there even more.

Maybe tonight it wasn’t a full house concert at Jersey Opera House, but it didn’t reduce our boys’ spirit to give their best performance. Overall, Libera's concert was really good, according to Patrick who attending the concert which is agreed by the others. Unfortunately, our beloved duo Ralph and Stefan have been MIA on this tour, as well as Barney, Oscar, and Carlos. But, we happily welcoming the return of the back-row team as you already heard from here.

There were 26 boys on stage. Even though the composition of the boys has changed a bit but the setlist was quite the same as the Spring Tour and Arundel's, except they replaced 'Do Not Stand' with 'Faithful Heart'. The concert was opened with Jubilate as the opening number. I myself always love this song. It can boost up good mood. Perfect choice as an opening.

I already had thought that Matthew J, Eoghan, and Isaac would get some solo parts at the concert. Their voices are undoubtly excellent. I noticed Thomas got quite a few numbers of solo. I kinda surprised. And I proudly say that tonight he did a great job, based on the report of the Libera fans who witnessed it. Such a promising soloist he is.

I’m so happy that Ciaran – who has missed the latest concert in Arundel - was coming back on stage with his lovely Dies Irae. He was fantastic, said Danielle one of the concert goers. Congratulations for our Cookie Monster-Michael UR and Jude who got their very first solo. Michael has such a lovely cute voice, while Jude has a strong voice but seemed a bit nervous. At the beginning of the second act, Eoghan sang a capella of a little chant of Attende Domine/Attendite, the same one as at the Arundel concert.

I must say that tonight's concert was FULL of SURPRISES. Some new soloists have arisen. But the highlights tonight are of course: 1) (un)surprisingly Josh got a solo part on Faithful Heart which was so moving as Patrick said. Josh's voice was quite same as CD on first sentences then help by Matthew J on high. 2) Josh played the piano behind the choir during Ave Verum.

To be honest, I KNEW it Josh would get a solo part. But, OMJ, when I heard it, I was literally crying with joy. No sadness this time. My heart was warming, full of joy. No kidding! He's still singing in Libera, getting solo part and playing keyboard as well is like a double rainbow to me. Josh, you're an excellent and amazing Libera boy EVER (in my eyes). I'm a proud MadineLover. I love you! How I really wish I was there.

The whole performance was ended by the majestic tune: How Shall I Sing that Majesty which sung by Eoghan on the solo part. Bravo, guys! What a splendid job for the first concert. No meet and greet after the concert. But, our friends Yuki and Danielle managed to take some pictures at the end of the concert.

Thank you very much for Patrick, Danielle, Yuki, and the others for updates and pictures. The second concert is only 21 hours away. Hopefully, the first one can boost up the ticket's selling for tomorrow (or today in Indonesia time). Then magically it will be a sold-out concert. Keep your fingers crossed and keep sharing the info to help the boys! :) Now, time for me to sleep. I know I'll get a really good sleep this nigh err morning. Okay, good mornight!

Day 2
This is a brief update of the Libera day 2. Libera still brought the same programme on the stage at the day 2 concert, well, as usual. Same soloists, same songs. But, all boys were in their top form. They made a good progress. According to some fans, it was perfect than yesterday.

Josh's touchy Faithful Heart still took a breath away, while Thomas amazingly nailed the high notes on that song. Our little Isaac with his strong voice successfully impressed the whole theatre on Song of Life. Their performance was also well-supported by the awesome lighting and staging. Ten point (of 10) to the Libera boys. No wonder there's a lot of smiling faces in the end. Well done, my lads! (p.s: don't you notice that most of the boys, even RP, got tanned? I reckon they had lots of fun in the Island!)
